What is the campaign?

People with a learning disability are often:

• not listened to

• misunderstood

• left out

This is not fair.

The Here I Am campaign says:

👉 People with a learning disability are important
👉 People should be proud of who they are
👉 Everyone should be included

Why it matters

People with a learning disability have:

• jobs

• hobbies

• friends and families

• dreams and goals

A learning disability is only one part of who someone is.

Learning Disability Register

Mencap is also asking people to join the Learning Disability Register.

This is a list at your GP surgery.

If you are on the register:

• doctors know you have a learning disability

• you can get better support

• you can get a free annual health check

Being on the register can help people stay healthy and safe.

Many people are not on the register yet.

We want more people to sign up.
