Hammersmith, London — October 2025
Hammersmith & Fulham Mencap has been awarded £288,000 over three years from The National Lottery Community Fund to launch London Makers, an inclusive new creative enterprise programme. Additional support from the Masonic Charitable Foundation and The Clothworkers’ Foundation has funded key equipment.
This funding will empower people with learning disabilities and autism to explore creativity, build enterprise skills, and produce high-quality products for real markets.
“We’re absolutely delighted,” said Tim Balogun, CEO. “London Makers puts creativity, inclusion, and enterprise at the centre of our work, giving participants the confidence and tools to express their talents.”
About London Makers
The programme will engage 420 participants, offering mentoring, hands-on training, and collaboration with professional artists and designers. Participants will create and sell products inspired by London’s culture, developing skills in design, marketing, and enterprise.
London Makers will also establish a fully accessible creative studio with tools such as 3D printers and adaptive workstations, supporting people of all ages and abilities. Products will be sold online and in person, with proceeds benefiting both creators and HF Mencap’s wider programmes.
“This is about unlocking potential and building connections,” said Rebecca Rawcliffe, Business Development Manager.
